Cozy Campfire Recipes
Here are some of our favourite fall recipes to enjoy over the campfire to help keep you warm and cozy while camping in the parks this September.

Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- Pinch of ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- Chocolate bar (preferably solid)
Cooking Instructions:
- Using a cooking pot, mix the first five ingredients listed
- Add pot over fire to cook, stirring often to avoid the liquid burning
- Roughly chop chocolate
- Add chocolate into pot and continue stirring
- Once the chocolate has melted, remove from the fire and enjoy.
Pumpkin Spice French Toast
Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 1/3 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1 tsp sugar
- Pinch of salt
- Bread
- 1.5 tbsp butter
Cooking Instructions:
- Crack two eggs into a bowl and mix
- Add pumpkin puree, whole milk, pumpkin spice, sugar and salt
- Mix all ingredients together
- Dunk bread slices into batter and coat thoroughly
- Add 1.5 tbsp of butter to pan and heat over campfire
- Once pan is hot, add bread slices coated in batter
- Cook to desired level
- Enjoy
Skillet Beer Cheese Dip
Ingredients:
- 8 oz block of cream cheese
- 3 cups of shredded cheese
- 2 cloves of minced garlic
- 1 can of lager beer
- Salt
- Cayenne pepper
- Tortilla chips
Cooking Instructions:
- Heat pan over fire
- Add 8 oz block of cream cheese
- Add 3 cups of shredded cheese on top
- Add 2 cloves of minced garlic
- Add 1 can of lager beer
- Sprinkle over a pinch of salt
- Add a pinch of cayenne pepper
- Mix and let simmer
- Grab your chips and enjoy
Pumpkin Spice Bush Pie
Ingredients:
- 1/4 can pumpkin puree
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- Bread
- Butter
Cooking Instructions:
- To a mixing bowl, add pumpkin puree, brown sugar, pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon
- Mix ingredients together
- Grab two slices of bread and add butter to one side of each slice
- Place bread into pie iron with butter side down
- Spread mixture from bowl onto the inside side of the bread
- Close up the pie iron and place in fire for one to two minutes
- Remove from fire, open up and enjoy.
One Pot Chili Mac
Ingredients:
- Half an onion
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Cooking oil
- 1/2 lb ground beef
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp cumin
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/5 cup broth
- 1 cup of elbow noodles
- 1 can kidney beans, drained
- Minced red onion
- Jalapeno
- Shredded cheese
- Sour cream
Cooking Instructions:
- Start by dicing half an onion
- Mince 2 cloves of garlic
- Add cooking oil to pan and heat over fire
- Add onions to the pan and fry until golden brown
- Add 1/2 lb of ground beef and tomato paste to pan
- In a separate bowl mix together chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika and salt
- Add the mixed seasoning, garlic and broth into the pan
- Stir the pan and let the broth simmer for 1 minute
- Add elbow noodles and kidney beans
- Let cook until the liquid is absorbed
- Serve topped with minced red onion, jalapeno, shredded cheese and sour cream.
- Enjoy
Apple Crisp Foil Packets
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of sliced apples
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1/4 cup quick oats
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- Aluminum foil
Cooking Instructions:
- Place two sections of aluminum foil on the table
- Slice up 2 apples, place them in the middle of the aluminum foil equally
- Sprinkle sugar and 1 tsp of cinnamon over the apples
- In a large bowl, mix together ¼ cup of melted butter, 1/4 cup of brown sugar, 1/4 cup of flour, 1/4 cup of quick oats and baking powder
- Pour mixture over apples
- Fold aluminum foil over apples and seal tight
- Place aluminum foil wrapped apples on fire to cook for 3-4 minutes
- Remove from fire, open and enjoy.
