Winter Programs and Events

Once again Sask Parks will be offering a number of great winter activities and programs at Buffalo Pound, Echo Valley, Candle Lake, Cypress Hills, Duck Mountain, Moose Mountain, Pike Lake and Great Blue Heron Provincial Parks.

Programming and Activities

Please register online for the guided programs to let us know you’ll be joining us for the fun! Registration will be available two weeks prior to each program.

Pike Lake:

• Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. starting Jan 1 (Register here)
  • A Saunter Through Snow: Guided Snowshoe Hike
  • Learn to Play Crokicurl
• Other self-guided activities available:
  • Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing (rentals available), skating, crokicurl, Park Activity Kits

Duck Mountain:

• Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. starting Jan 1 (Register here)
  • A Saunter Through Snow: Guided Snowshoe Hike
  • Bonfire Skating Party
• Other self-guided activities available:
  • Ice fishing, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, skating, downhill skiing, snowshoeing (rentals available), snowmobiling, fat-tire biking, crokicurl, Park Activity Kits

Echo Valley:

• Fridays starting Jan 1 (Register here)
  • 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – Illuminated Snowshoe Stroll and Campfire
• Other self-guided activities available:
  • Cross-country skiing, hiking, snowshoeing (rentals available), ice fishing, Park Activity Kits

Moose Mountain:

• Sundays starting Jan 2 (Register here)
  • 10 a.m. – Cross-country Ski Adventure
  • 2 p.m. – Winter Wonderland Wanderings
• Other self-guided activities available:
  • Cross-country skiing (rentals available at Kenosee Inn), hiking, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, tobogganing, crokicurl, ice fishing, Park Activity Kits

Cypress Hills:

• Fridays starting Dec 3 (Register here)
  • 7:30 p.m. – Marvel at the Night Sky
• Saturdays starting Nov 27 (Register here)
  • 10 a.m. – Winter Fun Basecamp
  • 2 p.m. – Cypress Snowshoe
• Sundays starting January 29 (Register here)
  • 1:30 p.m. – The Abominable's Walk
• Other self-guided activities available:
  • Cross-country skiing, snowshoeing (rentals available at The Cypress Hills Resort), snowmobiling, disc golf, ice fishing, Park Activity Kits

Buffalo Pound:

• Sundays starting Jan 2 (Register here)
  • 10:30 a.m. – Winter Fun Basecamp
  • 2:30 p.m. – Snowshoe to the Bison
• Other self-guided activities available:
